Each stage, from initial planning and design to material delivery and construction, is carefully structured to ensure a smooth and efficient experience. 01. Ordering Process
Every pole barn project begins with a conversation. During the initial phone call or consultation, a building specialist gathers important information about your project. This early stage helps ensure the building design fits your needs and avoids potential mistakes later in the process. Experts guide customers through the planning stage to make the project as smooth as possible.
02. Customer Experience
When ordering a metal or post-frame building, the customer experience can make all the difference. 03. Designing the Pole Barn
Once the project details are discussed, the next step is designing the building. Many suppliers offer design tools or work directly with customers to create the layout and specifications for the structure. We even provide a 3D design tool that allows customers to visualize the building before ordering materials. This helps ensure the final structure meets both functional and aesthetic goals.

Our roof trusses can be custom-cut to fit the specifications of any project, from pole barn builds to residential or commercial buildings. With a supply of standard truss sizes in stock, you can get what you need quicker and keep your project on track.
05. Assembling Trusses
This is the stage where all precision cut components are arranged on assembly tables and secured together to match the engineered plans. As each truss comes together, the true scale and complexity of these structures becomes clear. Whether for small residential builds or large spans used in pole barns, post frame, and commercial projects, this process turns the design into a finished structure.

In this video, we take you inside the CMT Components metal shop to highlight the key machines behind the production process. Everything from roll formers and precision bending equipment to machines that create trim pieces. You will also see a recoil machine in action, which prepares coils for jobsite use and become ready for delivery.

In this video, Scott Thomas, the dispatch manager at CMT Components, explains what takes place after your order is submitted. The process begins with the sales team turning your vision into a plan. Finally, the project advances to production, where raw materials are transformed into trusses, metal panels, and trim.
